Sarah Cain understands retail. The need for quick turnaround. The management of products and photography, of print and production. The unavoidable changes - to product, to pagination, to price. And in the end, how deadlines cannot be moved. You will make delivery.
From photographic art direction, to account and production management, Sarah Cain knows the processes inside out; and across a wide range of retail clients. Shopping centres – The Myer Centre, Adelaide, Jewellers – Shiels, Grahams and PWBeck, retail pharmacies – National Pharmacies and Gaslight, Feast! gourmet butchers, property developers and optical.
Carclew is South Australia’s only multi-art form and cultural organisation dedicated to artistic outcomes by and for people aged 26 and under. It provides young people with opportunities to try different art forms, supports emerging artists to develop their craft and advocates for youth arts practice.
Carclew and Sarah Cain have enjoyed a working relationship since 2007, evolving the brand together to market the organisation along with the people who utilise its services.
Walford Anglican School for Girls engaged Oranje Creative to rebrand their marketing material. In the role of Art Director, Sarah Cain designed the bold new look and developed the "Her Best" concept. Storyboards illustrated the distinct photography that was art directed over a three week period and applied to the collateral.
La Prova is a wine range produced by artisanal winemaker Sam Scott. Focussing on Italian varietals, the grapes are sourced from all over the Adelaide Hills and the range evolves with the seasons and quality of the growers and terrior.
With this in mind the La Prova brand was developed. Every label is hand written to reflect the artisan nature of the product. Each vintage is unique.

Scott is the flagship label of artisanal winemaker Sam Scott. Consisting of Syrah, Chardonnay, Lo Zingaro and The Denizen Chardonnnay, the brand reflects both the hand made nature of the wine and the importance of family to the winemaker.
Watercolours were used to develop the face of the labels. The Denizen and Lo Zingaro are the most personal with Sam "The Gypsy Surfer" reflected on Lo Zingaro, while wife, Candice along with her prized chicken appear on The Denizen.
Burnside Village Shopping Centre engaged Oranje Creative to develop a Christmas Playzone with interactive elements. In the role of Art Director, Sarah Cain concepted a life size Advent Calendar that could be used to display Christmas gifts sold by Burnside Village retailers. The calendar was designed to sit alongside oversized gift boxes and North Pole directional signage. Sarah Cain project managed production of the elements and installation in the Centre. The Christmas Playzone proved popular with children and was utilised as an in-store Christmas competition for promotion.
When former model Ute Petersen took over the helm at Tanya Powell Model Agency, she wanted to update and rebrand without forgetting the Agency's roots. Powell Models was born and she approached Oranje Creative to develop the new identity. In the role of Art Director, Sarah Cain developed the logo, stationery, comp cards, signage and the basis for the new website. A monotone palate was used, fitting to a fashion brand, and the theme was continued with beautiful black and white photography by Nectario Karolos Papazacharias.
Property, real estate, construction and land development companies have played a large part in Sarah Cain's career. From consumer brochures to signage and design of display suite interiors, annual reports and capability documents, Sarah Cain has worked across the board; and with a range of companies: Stockland, Delfin, Lend Lease, Urban Construct, AVJennings and Partek Construction.
